The Faculty of Science and Technology at the University of Nairobi celebrated its graduates during the University’s 75th Graduation Ceremony held on 18 September 2026 at Chancellor’s Court, recognising a new cohort of scientists and technology professionals prepared to contribute to research, innovation and national development.
The Faculty’s graduates received qualifications across diverse disciplines, including computing and informatics, data science, mathematics, statistics, chemistry, biological sciences, physics, biotechnology, climate change and environmental governance. The postgraduate cohort included doctoral graduates in fields such as information systems, biotechnology, biochemistry, conservation biology, physics and climate change and adaptation.
These areas of specialisation reflect the role of scientific inquiry, digital technologies and evidence-based approaches in addressing complex challenges, from environmental sustainability and climate change to data-driven decision-making and technological advancement.
The ceremony was held under the theme, “Transforming Society through Excellence, Knowledge and Innovation.” Education Cabinet Secretary Julius Ogambo challenged graduands to become problem-solvers and innovators who create opportunities rather than rely solely on existing employment. The call speaks directly to the application of scientific knowledge and technical expertise in developing practical solutions for society.
The Faculty congratulates the Class of 2026 and encourages its graduates to pursue excellence in research, professional practice and innovation as they contribute to Kenya’s scientific and technological advancement.
