Hon. Lesrima 65th graduation celebration
It is true Age is just but a number!! During the 65th graduation ceremony, Former Assistant Minister Hon. Simeon Saimanga was conferred with a Doctor of Philosophy Degree in Environmental Governance at the age of 75 years!
The Vice Chancellor Prof. Kiama acknowledged this great achievement "Special recognition to one of you, Hon. Simeon Saimanga Lesirma for graduating with a Doctor of Philosophy Degree in Environmental Governance at the age of 75 years! That is the true spirit of the University of Nairobi!"
Hon. Lesirma is the current member of parliament for Samburu West Constituency. He noted one must love reading books and exercise a high degree of self-discipline in order to succeed in academics. He earned his first degree BA in Socia Sciences in 1972 at Makerere university. later he proceeded to undertake an MBA between 2001-2003 at USIU. indeed Hon. Lesirma is the true definition on Education has no end nor age limit
A total of 79 PhDs were conferred during the auspicious occasion with 19 PhDs coming from the faculty.
