The University of Nairobi's Chiromo campus recently hosted the inaugural School of Computational Techniques for Physics Students in Kenya (SCoTeP-K) from June 17-21, 2024. This landmark event, a collaborative effort between the Department of Physics and the Department of Computer Science, was designed to equip Kenyan physics students with advanced computing skills to bolster research in key national priority areas of science, technology, and innovation.

Mr. Samson Ekeno Lokwakai, an alumnus of the Department of Physics, is one of 10 global recipients of the McCall MacBain Scholarships at McGill University in Montreal, Canada. Dr. Owino's dedication, leadership, and vision has been instrumental in shaping the academic landscape within our institution, and her victory is a testament to her unwavering commitment to excellence.

On Thursday, March 28, 2024, the University of Nairobi witnessed the swearing-in of new student leaders at the Taifa Hall. This ceremony followed the Faculty and Campus Students' Association elections held virtually on Wednesday, March 27, 2024, and the Council elections conducted on Thursday morning.

All students and staff are invited to showcase their innovations and participate in faculty hackathons taking place from March 19-22, 2024.

The Faculty of Science and Technology at the University of Nairobi recently hosted three professors from the University of Slavonski Brod in Croatia. The visiting professors were Prof. Lackovic Ivica (Professor of Mechanical and Manufacturing Engineering), Prof. Nakic Petar (Professor of Electrical and Information Engineering), and Prof. Sivric Hrvoge (Professor of Social Sciences and Humanities).

In a landmark event for East African higher education, the University of Nairobi, Maseno University, and Dedan Kimathi University of Technology joined forces with international experts to explore the transformative potential of Collaborative Online International Learning (COIL) and virtual exchanges. This groundbreaking workshop, the first of its kind in the region, brought together 17 universities from Kenya and beyond to prioritize these innovative approaches to internationalization at home.
